R. Brett Thomas is a two-time Emmy® nominated film & television editor based in Los Angeles, CA.

He is best known for editing the Orion Pictures scripted feature film, The Wolf of Snow Hollow, starring Academy Award nominee Robert Forster (Jackie Brown), Riki Lindhome (Wednesday), Chloe East (The Fablemans), and Jim Cummings (Thunder Road). The film received a nation-wide theatrical release and is certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.

Born and raised in Savannah, GA, Brett grew up with a passion for drawing and still photography. He studied film & media production at the University of Alabama, and moved to Los Angeles immediately after graduating. Brett started his career as a staff editor at William Morris Endeavor (WME) and then became a promo/trailer editor for Sony Pictures Television. After that he moved into cutting long form film & television and has built a career transitioning seamlessly between scripted & documentary projects. His work has premiered at renowned festivals such as SXSW & Tribeca, and can be seen on platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, Max, ESPN, and many more.

Most recently, he edited The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping a Netflix mini series, executive produced by Academy Award winners Melanie Miller and Diane Becker.

Other recent highlights include editing & executive producing At Last (HBO Max), editing World Debut: From Outsiders to the Olympics (Executive produced by Tony Hawk), Washed Away (SXSW Film Festival 2019), and co-producing & editing Burros (Tribeca Film Festival 2021).

Brett is a member of the Television Academy and available for union work through the Motion Picture Editors Guild (Local 700).
